VAAB Northern Virginia Town Hall Meeting - May 21, 2010

posted May 18, 2010, 6:56 AM by Steven Lee

This Friday from 1:00-3:30pm, the Virginia Asian Advisory Board will be conducting its first town hall in the Northern Virginia area.

The Virginia Asian Advisory Board (VAAB) was created to recognize the importance of the contributions of the Asian Community in Virginia, to advise and inform the Governor on issues facing Asian constituents and to advocate for the interests of the Asian community.

The VAAB is utilizing several town halls across Virginia to have guest speakers discuss important topics that are important to the Asian American community but more importantly to gain more insight of other important issues that Virginian APAs feel should be raised to the Governor and his Cabinet. An Open Mic session was also created to address any additional comments or thoughts.

The VAAB is chartered to produce an annual report to be discussed with our appointed liaison and ultimately briefed to the Governor. There is no cost but your time is definitely valuable and this is THE forum to get your voices heard. We recognize that this Friday mid-day may be of a challenge but stress the importance of your participation in this event.

This is an open event so please forward to those others that may wish to attend.

Venue:
Mason District Government Center
6507 Columbia Pike
Annandale, VA 22003
